Marissa Strader

Marissa Strader

Marissa began her Pilates practice while she was in college (as part of her professional dance practice) to work on core stability, flexibility, precision, and flow in her movement. She had grown up around her mother practicing Pilates, but did not realize its true challenges and benefits until she learned the proper technique for herself and saw how it could help her prevent injury and navigate her own scoliosis and lumbar spine instability.

After graduating from Muhlenberg College with a B.A. in Dance in English, she moved to NYC to pursue a professional dance career. Her draw to Pilates quickly took over, and she received her Comprehensive Mat and Equipment certifications from the Kane School of Core Integration in 2015, under the instruction of the school’s founder, Kelly Kane. She taught at various studios in New York City, working with individuals of all ages and capabilities. After marrying her husband, they moved to Georgia and North Carolina, where she taught at two different private Pilates studios. She has worked with many golfers, professional equestrians, models, individuals recovering from surgery, cancer patients, and pre and postnatal persons.

Marissa has additional training in the Anatomy Trains curriculum, working with cancer patients, and especially pre and postnatal Pilates programming. She is VERY passionate about helping pregnant and postnatal people feel educated and confident in these stages.

Marissa is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, working at a holistic mental health clinic in Marlton, NJ. Marissa is very passionate about the power of the mind/body connection, and her teaching style reflects the integration of the two. She meets her clients where they are and listens to their needs. When she is not working or teaching, she enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and Terrier mix. She is so happy to return to Framework Pilates, and looks forward to empowering the clients she works with in the South Jersey area!
